A U.S. Navy drone was shot down Thursday night by an Iranian missile over the Strait of Hormuz after tensions begin to rise between Iran and the U.S.
Relations between the two took a turn this week after a decision was made by the Trump administration to deploy 1,000 additional troops and military resources to the Middle East. U.S. officials have also questioned Iran for conducting attacks against oil tankers.
The U.S. military’s Central Command has confirmed that Iranian forces shot down a U.S. drone, an RQ-4 Global Hawk, describing it as an “unprovoked attack.”
