Public Service Announcements
77WABC and its sister-station, 95.5 WPLJ-FM, are proud to play a role in supporting worthwhile organizations and community events in the Tri-State Area. Is there a charitable or non-profit event in your neighborhood that you want to make others aware of? Is your organization looking for volunteers? Do you work or volunteer with a non-profit organization which needs to alert area residents to available services? By submitting a Public Service Announcement (PSA), the stations can help promote social causes, government programs, nonprofit organizations, community service activities / events or relate information in the public interest. PSAs are run at no cost as they are non-commercial announcements. We'll do our best to air as many as possible on the stations.
HOW TO SUBMIT A PSA:
77WABC and 95.5 WPLJ-FM accept professionally recorded 30-second public service announcements and scripts. All PSAs received are considered for airing on both stations; there is no need to submit individually to each station.
A 30-second script (75 words) should be submitted on organization letterhead in all caps, double-spaced. Please do not send flyers or press releases. Pre-recorded spots on CD can be submitted by mail to the address below. If your pre-recorded PSA is in MP3 format or you wish to email your script, please call and speak to the stations' Public Service Director first for information on how to submit by email. The main station number is (212) 613 - 3800.
If your PSA is about a community event, please try to send it in at least four weeks before the event date. If you are working on a long-term public awareness campaign, an ongoing community project, or are seeking volunteers, let us know how long the announcement can air. For example, "The following public service announcement can air from May 1, 2009 to December 15, 2009."
